Professional Referrals: A Note From The Doctors of N8 to Our Colleagues

Our Framework for Referral Out

We maintain a robust contact list of trusted local, national and international colleagues to draw on for concurrent care and referral out. We spend the time to stay in personal contact with the most stimulating, evolving and caring clinicians because it is tremendously fulfilling to cross disciplines using the same fundamental scientific health principles with you.

In addition, we require precision coupled with flexibility in our outside partners due to the nature of our patient profile. Unfortunately, some practitioners have one or the other trait, and lack the synthesis required to succeed with this challenging population. Functional neurology attracts and requires attention to clinical detail and the compassion to address issues that were previously ascribed to the patient’s psyche. New lab tests and exam procedures confirm daily that legions of patients who were relegated by scientific medicine to scavenge among the non-evidence based methods actually have clear, treatable biochemistry or neurological imbalances. At the same time, we know that together we will not cure most of these patients, so we continue to improve their quality of life in the face of their complex disorders.

Our Framework for Accepting Referrals

It is a genuine thrill for us to engage referrals from our trusted partners for concurrent care, second opinion or to serve as the comprehensive case manager. We have found patients do much better when their referring practitioner tells us, in whatever format they prefer, their human impression of what they perceived in a case. We are deeply interested in your refined, professional observations, as well as your gut feelings on cases, and are not critical or judgmental. We need your impressions, and our partners agree there is no room for turf battles or ego jockeying. There are just too many patients and great clinical applications to waste time on that!

If you would like to refer a case to us: email, call or visit and tell us your impressions. Make a personal contact so we know who you are and how you think. Better yet, sit in with us on our cases or bring one of yours in. We teach continuing education courses and have past and present clinical professors on staff. In some cases, we can even send a doc to your office for you. Either way, we want to get to know you individually and grow a powerfully active referral group together.
