LENS (Low Energy Neurofeedback System) has been demonstrated to be useful for a large number of neurological conditions including:
LENS has the highest safety rating available from the FDA. It is the only biofeedback device to carry this rating. The amount of stimulation going to the brain is less than the electrical stimulation from a watch battery.
It appears to work by correcting dysfunctional nerve pathways. Brain maps depict the brain returning to normal after treatments.
The number of treatments varies widely, but, usually after a map and four treatments, a reasonable judgment of the length of treatment can be made. The number is partially determined by the client's sensitivity, reactivity, amount of suppression, and hardiness.
Both the mapping procedure and the treatments are conducted with the client sitting quietly in a chair. The procedure does not require the client to do anything else. The clinician applies a single electrode to 20 different positions on the scalp and the computer records the information. During treatment the computer returns a replica of the wave form to the scalp at the point where the electrode is connected.
